In 1998, a group of visionary Board members of the Boys & Girls Club gathered a group of young professional leaders to form the Panther Club of Fort Worth. With the goals of gaining philanthropic experience and making a difference in the community, the Club has accomplished just that - year after year.
The Panther Club's mission is to support the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Fort Worth through fundraising, service projects, and community awareness. The Panther Club also sponsors annual college scholarships for graduating Club Members.
The Panther Club hosts three major fundraisers each year – the Rob Blakewell “Panther Club” Memorial Golf Tournament, the Fall Fiesta, and the Panther 5K Run.
In 2011, the Panther Club donated $87,000 to Boys & Girls Clubs for programming and operational support and youth scholarships.
The Panther Club's name is derived from the 1920s’ Panther Boys Club, the precursor to today’s Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Fort Worth. The successful model of the Panther Club has been widely imitated in the community.
